The government has agreed to buy eight buildings around the country for state-led childcare centres this year.

The government is to consider buying a purpose-built facility in Boyle for a much-needed childcare centre.

Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane says Boyle has a severe shortage of childcare - with only 20 places for over 1,000 households.
