External maternity reviews into Portiuncula University Hospital are nearing conclusion. 12 reviews were ordered into care in January 2025, with 8 completed. Two more have been completed recently and have been accepted by the commissioner, with findings shared with families.
This month's regional health forum meeting heard two further reviews are expected to be finished imminently. Member of the forum and local Cllr Alan Harney feels it is vital progress continues:
