Athlone TD Kevin 'Boxer' Moran and Sligo-Leitrim TD Marian Harkin are already assured of ministers of state roles.

The county is one of the worst affected following Storm Éwoyn with around 2,600 homes without electricity in Mohill alone.

Meanwhile, An Post says a number of local post offices are back open following Storm Éowyn.

Fianna Fáil councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice said fallen trees have led to widespread power outages in the area since Friday.

The Taoiseach spoke to the Media at one of the emergency hubs in Kiltoom, Co. Roscommon earlier.

The utility said a small amount of sediment had entered its tanker and apologised to customers.

The HSE says the review is an additional measure to make maternity services at the hospital as safe as possible.
