A local councillor has said a west Roscommon town is like a 'warzone' due to damage caused by Storm Éowyn. Fianna Fáil councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice said fallen trees have led to widespread power outages in the area since Friday.
He says ESB crews and Roscommon County Council staff have been working 'day and night' to restore electricity. Speaking to Shannonside News, he said some residents could be waiting up to a week for full restoration:
