Marcin Pieciak was sentenced to 24 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter.

Around 100 people attended the event.

In a letter to the court, published in full below, the McNally family told Marcin Pieciak: "You attacked Sarah in the most vicious, violent, evil manner possible. You robbed her of the life she deserved, and absolutely destroyed ours in the process."

Adam Daly, New York reporter with amNewYork, was in Queens Supreme Court today, as 37-year-old Pieciak was sentenced.

Sarah McNally, 41, originally from Co Longford, had lived in New York for a decade and worked as a bartender at the Céilí House in Maspeth, Queens.

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter last month, after killing her at Ceili House Bar in Maspeth, Queens, New York, on March 30, 2024. 

The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary left the building in Loughglynn Demesne in 2003, and it's been vacant ever since.

Roscommon-Galway TD Martin Daly, from Fianna Fáil, said there's been a tsunami of mental health issues since the Covid pandemic.
