It’s understood strong winds caused the glass front of the building to buckle, prompting staff to evacuate the premises.

Carrigallen is one of the worst-hit areas, with around 1,306 customers affected, along with 1,294 in Carrick-on-Shannon, 374 in Boyle, 373 in Mohill, and 258 in Arigna.
