Tipperary punish poor Leitrim

Leitrim had no real answer for Tipp

Leitrim were caught flat footed as Tipperary scored a decisive 13-point win in Clonmel.

Tipperary sit just one point behind second placed Longford in the Division 4 table after a comprehensive 1-18 to 0-8 victory.

Sean O’Connor netted the game’s only goal 10 minutes before half-time; helping Tipp to a commanding 1-12 to five point half-time lead.

Keith Keegan (2pt), Oisin McLoughlin (2pt) and Riordan O’Rourke with Leitirm’s first-half scores.

Two-pointers from Steven O’Brien and O’Connor further stretched the margin in the second-half. Barry McNulty, McLoughlin and Paul Honeyman with Leitrim’s second-half scores.

However, the Premier County ran out 13-point winners to remain firmly in the promotion race.
