A dominant performance saw St. Brigids overcome rivals Clann na Gael with 13 points to spare.
St. Brigids landing their first Roscommon senior title in some 11-years.
Brigid’s took control early on with Ali Nugent fining the back of the Clann net with just over a minute played.
Brigid’s added further points as they moved in to a seven point lead after 10 minutes.
Kate Nolan got her side’s second goal of the contest with 26 minutes on the clock. St Brigid’s were leading by nine points at this stage, holding Clann to only a single score.
Clann added further scores as half time approach, but it was Brigid’s leading by seven at the break. At half-time it was St. Brigid’s 2-5 to Clann na Gaels 0-4.
Sarah O’Rourke got Brigid’s third goal of the game on 37 minutes as they were moving through the gears.
Just over five minutes later Aine O’Brien got her sides fourth as Brigid’s moved into a 19-point lead. After 42 minutes Brigids led 4-11 to 0-4.
Clann found the back of the Brigid’s net on 54 minutes. However, there was no question who would claim the title by this stage of the contest.
St. Brigid’s were crowned champions in Ballyleague, running out 13 point winners, 4-13 to 1-9.
