Shane Moran’s Roscommon minor side reach the Connacht final for the second year in row with a victory over Mayo.
Roscommon got off to a strong start when Mayo goalkeeper Rowan McLoughlin failed to deal with a high ball into his small square. Cathal Nerney on hand to react and palm the ball to the back of the Mayo net.
An excellent two-pointer from Jayden Jennings along with points from Seamie Carthy and Jayden Concannon sent Roscommon into the break with a three point lead.
Roscommon leading at the break 1-7 to 0-7.
Jaydon Jennings and Seamie Carthy both hit two-pointers in the second-half along with further scores from Carthy and Enda Browne. The visitors continued their dominance into the second-half of the contest.
The result was put beyond any doubt on 55 minutes; Cathal Nerney got his second goal of the evening; finishing the rebound past McLoufghlin in the Mayo net sealing a 10 point victory. 2-17 to 0-13.
Roscommon followed up victories over Sligo and Galway to book their place in the Connacht final, with Leitrim to come in the final round game next Friday evening.
