Roscommon Gaels beat Oran 1-15 to 16 points in Lisnamult in Round 2 of Group C this evening in the Roscommon Senior football championship.
Tim Lambe scoring the crucial goal for the Gaels with eight minutes to go which gave them a five point lead at that point.
Roscommon Gaels started brightly and got the opening two points but Oran with the help of a couple of two pointers were eight points to four ahead. The Gaels came back into it and were traling by one point at the interval, 0-8 to 0-07.
The home side started the second half well and Oran were two points down when Lambe goaled. Oran kicked the last three points but Roscommon Gaels got the 1-15 to 16 points victory.
Elsewhere, Padraig Pearses got the better of Clann na nGael and St Brigids saw off Western Gaels.
