Sligo produced a late comeback to down Roscommon and land the FBD League sheild.
A late surge saw Sligo wrap-up the pre-season competition with a 2-14 to 1-18 win in the Connacht centre of excellence.
Sligo offered more throughout and led 1-7 to 1-5 at half-time. Rob Heneghan’s 21st minute goal dragging Roscommon back into the game.
Lee Deignan having put Sligo into a 1-4 to three-point lead after 16 minutes. However, Sligo responded better after the restart.
Deignan (0-2), Darragh Cummins and Pat Spillane with four points in a row to move 1-10 to 1-6 clear.
The Rossies fought back and Heneghan’s second goal 10 minutes from moved Roscommon ahead, 2-9 to 1-11. Enda Smith made it a two-point game moments later.
Lee Deignan fired over two frees to pull Sligo back into it. A Paul Carey free restored Roscommon’s two-point lead.
However, a Pat Spillane two-pointer and a Deignan two-point free put Sligo ahead. Paddy O’Connor made it a three point game.
Dylan Russell fired over a Roscommon two-pointer, four minutes into injury time but it wasn’t enough as Sligo claimed a 1-18 to 2-14 win.
