Roscommon conquered New York as they eased into a Connacht semi-final at Gaelic Park.
The Rossies found the net five times in the first-half to effectively finish the tie early.
However, a red card to star full-forward Daire Cregg, could see him miss the Mayo match, a big loss in Castlebar.
Roscommon delivered a commanding performance at Gaelic Park to secure a comprehensive 5-22 to 1-10.
The visitors made a dream start, with Enda Smith finding the net just 23 seconds after the throw-in.
Indeed, New York responded well early on; grabbing a goal through Jack McKenna to briefly level the match, Roscommon quickly took full control.
A devastating spell saw Roscommon rack up goals through Rob Heneghan, Dylan Ruane, Darragh Heneghan and Eoin McCormack; leaving New York struggling to contain the onslaught.
By the 27th minute, Roscommon had already struck five goals!
New York did show moments of resistance, with Conor Keenan and Jack Foley contributing scores. However, they were consistently outmatched across the field.
At half-time, Roscommon led comfortably by 5-11 to 1-4.
However, the closing stages of the first-half were overshadowed by a red card shown to Darragh Cregg, a potential concern ahead of their upcoming Connacht semi-final with Mayo.
The second-half followed a similar pattern, with Roscommon maintaining control and extending their lead through scores from Diarmuid Murtagh, Shane Cunnane and Rob Heneghan.
Indeed, New York battled on, with Killian Butler, Paul Carey and Frank O’Reilly getting on the scoresheet. However, the gap remained substantial.
Late on, Enda Smith capped off the performance with the final point of the game, underlining Roscommon’s dominance from start to finish.
Roscommon winning out 5-22 to 1-10 and will face Mayo in the Connacht semi-final in MacHale Park on April 26.
