The Royals had 10 points to spare over Roscommon in this afternoons clash played in Ballyforan.
Roscommon started brightly and found the back of the Meath net when Conor Mulry struck after just two minutes.
Meath responded strongly with nine unanswered points before Conor Morris scored a pair of frees. This, brought it back to a five point game as Meath led 0-09 to 1-01 after 16 minutes.
Conor Morris added two more frees before the break but it was Meath who held a strong nine point lead at the break, leading 0-16 to 1-4.
Tom Shine hit three points early in the second-half for Meath as their grip on proceedings tightened in Ballyforan. Roscommon registered scores from Adam Donnelly and Conor Morris.
The second goal of the day arrived for Roscommon on 47 minutes. Michael Hussey hit the back of the Meath net, as the visitors led by eight points, 0-20 to 2-6.
Conor Morris, Cian Murray and Karl Feehily registered scores for Roscommon in the closing stages of the contest, but the result was already decided.
Meath ran out 10 point winners, 0-28 to 2-12.
