James Fitzpatrick hit a personal tally of 2–4 helping his Oran to a big win over Castlerea St. Kevin's.
Oran started this contest the stronger of the sides. James Fitzpatrick opened the scoring before Charlie Carthy and Ciaran Lawless both added a two pointer each.
With nine minutes played Oran led by seven points. Castlerea scored a much needed two pointer from the boot of Adam McDermott, as his side looked to reduce the deficit.
On 15 minutes, Jamie Fitzpatrick continued his electric start as he found the back of the Castlerea net. Further points from Shane Walsh and Ciaran Lawless pushed Oran into an 11 point lead.
Points from Darren McDermott and Adam McDermott added to Castlerea’s tally before the latter scored Castlerea’s first goal, reducing the Oran lead to nine points.
At half-time Oran lead 1-16 to Castlerea’s 1-7.
The second-half was off to a flyer as both teams traded goals early on. Jonathon Hestor struck first for Castlerea as Oran’s lead was reduced to six points.
Two minutes later Oran responded when Eoghan Grady reacted to a breaking ball, finding the net. Castlerea responded with three consecutive points from the boots of Cormac Beaty, Darren and Adam McDermott.
Oran’s danger man Jamie Fitzpatrick struck again with Oran’s third goal of the afternoon on 48 minutes. Oran now leading by 10 points on a score line of 3-17 to 2-10.

A two pointer from Darragh Walsh extended Oran’s lead, as Ciaran Lawless and Paul Kenny furthered the advantage to a double scoring advantage. Oran now with a commanding 3-23 to 2-10 lead with minutes to play.
Kevin Hestor registered Castlerea’s third goal on the brink of full time, offering no more than a consolation score for the visitors.
Oran running out 13 point victors at the finish. It finished at Rockfield, Oran 3-23 to Castlerea’s 3-10.
