Mayo GAA's vice-chairman Michael Diskin admits the tone of their statement about their outgoing football management team didn't 'reflect the respect and admiration' they have for Kevin McStay.
Diskin added that they're planning to appoint a new manager by the second round of their local football championships.
Meanwhile, Mayo are on the lookout for a new U-17 and U-20 managers.
The minor football joint-management team of David Heaney and Tom Reilly notified Mayo GAA that they are not seeking another term in charge of the team; bringing their initial two year term to a close.
Whereas, U-20 football manager Peadar Gardiner also informed Mayo GAA that he is not seeking another term as manager.
Gardiner completed his two year term this year, having been appointed in August 2023. Gardiner informed the board this week that he and his management team have now decided to step away.
