Longford registering their second win of Allianz hurling league division four with a 1-14 to 1-12 win over Cavan.
Cathal Mullane came off the bench to net a crucial goal for Longford in his 100th appearance for his county. The game was moved to Michael Fay Park home of Longford slashers.
Cavan led 1-8 to six points at half-time. Cavan were reduced to 14 men when Dylan McKeever was sent-off on 46 minutes.
Elsewhere, Sligo scored a 2-20 to 18 point win over Leitrim in Carrick-on-Shannon. Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch landed both goals for the visitors.
The earlier game in Abbotstown saw Monaghan getting off the mark with a 1-23 to 2-16 win against Lancashire.
In their first outing of the league, the Exiles led 11 points to nine at half-time. Lancashire led by four points in the second-half before Rowan McMahon got in for a timely goal for the Farney men.
Points from Eithan Flynn and Niall Arthur down the home stretch saw Monaghan to victory.
