Longford moved up to second place in Allianz league division having leaders Carlow their first defeat of the campaign.

However, Longford responded in style. Oran Kenny struck twice from two-point range, while Matthew Carey also raised an orange flag as the hosts began to take control.
Carlow stayed in touch thanks to a 32nd-minute goal from Chris Blake. The visitors trailed by just a point at the break as Longford led 0-11 to 1-7.
The visitors briefly nosed ahead in the second half when Conor Doyle split the posts from two-point territory.
Longford answered immediately, with Patrick Moran and Matthew Flynn restoring their advantage.
Mikey Bambrick levelled matters with a superb long-range effort for Carlow, setting up a tense finale.
But it was the Midlanders who finished with authority.
James Moran struck for a decisive late goal, and further scores from Dylan Farrell and Patrick Moran wrapped up a 1-2 closing burst that keeps Longford firmly in the promotion hunt with two rounds remaining.
