A last minute Daniel Reynolds goal saw Longford claim an opening league win over Waterford in Dungarvan.
Waterford were reduced to 14 men for 10 minutes when Liam Mulligan was shown a black card.
Mike Solon's side retook the lead with points from Oran Kenny and Paddy Moran after 16 minutes, just moments before Waterford got their opening goal of the contest.
Aaron Ryan found the back of the Longford net, giving Waterford a one point lead after 19 minutes; 1-02 to 0-4.
Dylan Farrell responded for Longford with a goal of his own after 25 minutes. The visitors moved into a three point lead.
James Walsh was causing the Longford defence troubles all afternoon got another point for Waterford. However, points from Dylan Farrell and Peter Lynn sent Longford into the break ahead.
The visitors led by one point at the break, 1-8 to 1-7. The second-half got off to a fast start. Darragh Walsh guided the ball into the back of the Longford net, two minutes after the restart.
Dessie Reynolds then kicked consecutive two-pointers, within five minutes of each other as Longford moved into a two point lead. After 47 minutes, the visitors led 1-13 to 2-8.
Waterford brought their scoring draught to an end when Stephen Curry fired over from play. Peter Lynn and Cian Brady kept the scoreboard ticking over for Longford.
Waterford then turned the game on its head with a two-pointer and a goal inside a minute. However, Dylan Farrell kicked a free offering Longford a lifeline as the game approached full-time.
Reynolds grabs the winner
Longford appeared to be working space for a two-pointer but Daniel Reynolds had other ideas and rifled the ball to the back of the Waterford net, sealing a first league win for Longford in this campaign.
