In Connacht Mayo topped the group with a victory over Galway and claimed a spot in the final while the Tribesmen will now face Roscommmon in the semi final, after the Rossies overcame Leitrim by 3-06 to 2-07 in Dr Hyde Park. The home side took in a 3-3 to 1-02 lead with the goals coming from John Curran who finished with 2-04 to his name and John Mc Guinness while midfilder Colm Mc Loughlins raised a green flag for the vistiors in the opening 15 mins and that was added to deep in to injury time at the end of the game by Frankie Mc Guinness
In Ulster Monaghan overcame Cavan by 1-17 to 0-16 points to claim a semi final spot against Armagh while Tyrone scored a late goal to over come Derry by 1-11 to 12 points to set up a meeting with Donegal
