Longford booked a place in the hurling league division four final after a share of the spoils with Warwickshire.
Longford raced into a seven point lead with points from Sean Tiernan, Niall Hawes, Reuben Murray and Matthew Hawes in Birmingham. Hawes found the Warwickshire net after 15 minutes.
Warwickshire hit four points without reply before half-time, as Longford took a three point lead to the break, 1-4 to 0-4.
Cathal Mullane and Matthew Hawes got Longford off to a strong start in the second-half. However, Warwickshire hit three without reply.
A strong six minute period on the hour saw Warwickshire take the lead for the first time.
However, Reuben Murray and substitute Martin Farrell rescued a share of the spoils for Longford with a point each in the final two minutes of regulation time.
It finished all square at Pairc Na hEireann in Birmingham, 1-13 to 0-16. The point was enough to seal Longford’s second place in division four.
Leitrim round out campaign with victory
Elsewhere, Leitrim claimed a comprehensive 19 point victory over Lancashire.
Daniel Miller opened the scoring for Leitrim scoring three of their first five points. Miller and Philip Burgess added further points for the home team who led 13 – 4 after 25 minutes.
James McNabola raised the green flag for Leitrim after 26 minutes before Sean O Riordan and Paul Mulligan added further points giving Leitrim a 14 point lead at the break.
Leitrim leading 1-16 to 0-05 as the half time whistle sounded. Lancashire got the opening point of the second half but Leitrim’s dominance continued when Daniel Millar got their second goal of the afternoon.
After 44 minutes Leitrim led 2-17 to 0-8. Miller’s fine form continued as he added further points alongside Philip Burgees and substitute Michael O Brien who added two points following his introduction.
Leitrim running out comfortable winners in Carrick on Shannon, 2-28 to 0-15.
