Longford overcame Monaghan to make it three wins from three in the Allianz hurling league division four played at Cloghan.
Joe Rabbit, Martin Farrell and Reuben Murray points helped Monaghan into a six point lead after 23 minutes, Longford lading eight points to two.
Monaghan were reduced to 14 players on the stroke of half-time when James Brady was shown a red card. Longford took a nine point lead to the break, 12 points to three.
A goal straight from throw-in at the beginning of the second-half, strengthened Longford’s grip on the game. Joe Rabbitte finding the back of the Monaghan net, Longford now leading 1-12 to 0-3.
Monaghan did respond with points from Niall Garland, Niall Arthur and Eithan Flynn.
However, further points form Rueben Murray and Martin Farrell who finished the game with a personal Tally of 0-09, helped secure the win for Longford.
Longford running out 13 point winners in Cloghan, on a score line of 1-23 to 0-13.
Roscommon see of Armagh
Elsewhere, Roscommon left The Box-IT Athletic Grounds with a share of the spoils in their division three clash with Armagh.
Points from Conor Morris and Eoin Kiernan helped Roscommon to a two pint lead after 11 minutes.
Liam Og Coyle found the back of the Armagh net after 19 minutes. As Roscommon held a four point lead, 1-06 to 0-05.
Cian Murray got Roscommon’s second goal of the half on the stroke of half-time, sending the visitors in with a nine point advantage.
At half-time, Roscommon leading 2-11 to 0-08. Liam Og Coyle opened the scoring for the second-half, before frees from Adam Donnelly and Conor Morris tightened Roscommon’s grip on proceedings.
Jack Dowling was shown a red card on 56 minutes, as Roscommon were reduced to 14 players.
Jason Martin and Darragh Finn added further points for Roscommon, as they held on to secure the win despite been reduced to 13 players. Substitute Daniel Staunton also shown a red card on the stroke of full-time.
Roscommon running out 11 point winners, 2-17 to 0-12.
