Longford Town lost out to fellow promoted side Drogheda by four goals to nil in Bishopgate this evening.
It’s the second defeat in a row for Longford Town after their loss to Sligo Rovers on Good Friday.
4-0 at Bishopsgate on Saturday evening. The win moves Drogheda up to fourth in the table while it’s a second defeat in a row for the Midlanders.
Mark Doyle gave the Louth side the lead in the 35th minute. Chris Lyons grabbed their second in the 51st minute. Mark Doyle got his second in the 56th minute while Hugh Douglas made it four-nil after 67 minutes.
In the next round of games- Longford Town are away to Shamrock Rovers and Tim Clancy’s Drogheda travel to Derry City
Drogheda will now prepare for an away trip to take on Derry City at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
Elsewhere tonight, High-flying Finn Harps beat Waterford 2-1 and Sligo Rovers drew 1-all with Shamrock Rovers.
