A local employer has given €200,000 to a massive sports facility in Carrick-on-Shannon, and it will be the title sponsor of the main football pitch.
Shannonside Recreational Campus will include an athletics track, an AstroTurf pitch, sports arena, and a standard grass pitch.
Construction work is ongoing on the €20 million development, and it will be fully complete in two years' time, all going well.

Most of the money is coming from state grants, but €1.4 million in fundraising is also needed.
The campus's chairperson, Brendan Lowe, has been speaking to Eoghan Murphy about the background to the project.
