The British monarch is coming to Ireland next year, in his first visit to the Republic since becoming King.

A local minister says he would like King Charles to visit Roscommon and Leitrim during his official state trip here. The British monarch is coming to Ireland next year, in his first visit to the Republic since becoming King.

Longford County Council has passed a motion inviting him to the county - but six councillors voted against it. Sligo-Leitrim TD and junior minister, Frank Feighan, says he would love to see him visit this region:
