South Roscommon is to get a new greenway next year with a 22 kilometre project planned for in and around the River Suck in Ballyforan.
The project's been offered almost one million euro under the Just Transition Fund on condition that the community raise the remaining 15%.
Stephen Burke who's part of the local group behind the scheme says they're confident of being able to raise the remaining funds, and hope to make real progress in the next year.
