A Shannonside resident says she was more than a little surprised and concerned when she witnessed a large party involving up to 70 young people in Drumsna last Sunday.
Patricia says she and her husband had moored their boat in Drumsna harbour last Sunday evening but were shortly joined by scores of young people, many of whom seemed to have been dropped off by parents.
She said she became concerned that things were getting out of hand a couple of hours later when a lot of the young people seemed to be quite drunk and she called the gardai.
Patricia said gardai did visit the scene and talked to some of the young people on two occasions but the party still went on till the early hours of Monday morning.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning she says that while she and her husband have enjoyed the area it's not somewhere they will thinking of visiting again.
