An east Galway woman, who lost her entire family in a road crash in Donegal in August, has thanked everyone who has supported her following the tragic events on August 20th last.

Geraldine Mullan, from Williamstown originally and now living in Moville, was the only survivor of a crash which claimed the lives of her husband John and two children Tomas and Amelia, after the car they were travelling in went into Lough Foyle.

In an interview on RTE's Prime Time, she paid a tribute to emergency services who helped rescue her family from the car and responded so quickly to the incident.

She says their final day together is a memory that will never leave her and is encouraging everyone to take a moment this Christmas to be thankful for their families:
