Residents in the Ballaghaderreen area are being urged to engage in the new round of public consultation for the North Connaught 110KV project.
The circuit is to facilitate output from renewable energy in the West to the national grid and will link the existing electricity substations at Moy near Ballina and Tonroe near Ballaghaderreen.
The project team is looking for feedback on the seven potential routes identified in the study area, four of which are for overhead lines, and three for underground cables.
The public consultation runs for two months from now until November 16th and involves a mix of traditional and innovative online methods that range from telephone surgeries to virtual project exhibitions via the North Connaught link on Eirgrid.com
Spokesperson David Martin says all the options are close to the town with the underground options following the road network.
