Close to 180 council homes across the Shannonside region are vacant.
That's according to a breakdown published in the Sunday Independent today.
The highest number of unleased council properties in the region are in Co. Roscommon, with a total of 110 houses.
This is followed by 81 in Cavan, and 46 in Longford.
Leitrim holds the lowest number of vacant council homes, at 22 - while Monaghan only has 6.
According to the data, Monaghan County Council is the only local authority that complies with moving tenants into council homes within 10 to 15 weeks.
