Warning of algal bloom at Keeldra Lake in Leitrim

Leitrim County Council is warning the public that a harmful blue green algae has been discovered at a popular lake in the south of the county.

The Council is asking people to avoid direct contact with the blue-green algal blooms which have been spotted in the water at Keeldra.

The local authority is warning people not to touch the bloom as it can make people and animals sick.
