Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier this week, he shared some memories of his time at Leinster House.

Tributes are being paid to a long serving defence forces member from Leitrim who retired this week.

John Earley, from Carrick-On Shannon, served in the Army for 37 years and worked as security in Leinster House for close to 12 years.

Now having served his time in the defence forces, he is taking up a new role as security at Lakeland Dairies.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show earlier this week, he shared some memories of his time at Leinster House.

"The department of Taoiseach have gyms in the millartary complex, personal from the department would come down and use the equipment."

"Enda Kenny would come down but he would talk about football and he could end up talking that much that he may not even get to train."
