'The right decision' - local TD welcomes refusal for Roscommon IPAS centre

There were proposals to house up to 17 asylum-seekers in Academy House in Goff Street.

A local TD is welcoming the decision to reject plans for a controversial IPAS centre in Roscommon town.

There were proposals to house up to 17 asylum-seekers in Academy House in Goff Street.

Roscommon County Council found the plan would not be exempted development - a decision now backed by An Coimisiun Pleanála.

Sinn Fein TD Claire Kerrane says it's the right decision:
