Tenders are being sought for vital works on a historic bridge in Co Roscommon. Roscommon County Council is looking for a contractor to carry out rehabilitation work on the 18th century Castlestrange Bridge, near Athleague.
Repair work was carried out on the nearby Rookwood Bridge last year, but it was decided more work was needed on Castlestrange Bridge. It's estimated the works will cost around 350,000 euro, and local councillor Laurence Fallon is pleased the project is progressing:
