Tanaiste and Foreign Affairs Minister won't be resigning on Zappone controversy

The controversy didn't go away when Katherine Zappone turned down the offer of the role several weeks ago

The Tanaiste says neither himself or the Foreign Affairs Minister will be resigning over the Katherine Zappone controversy.

The issue is back in the spotlight as focus turns to the publication and deletion of text messages about the matter.

It’s the issue that the Government wants to go away but simply won’t.

Sinn Fein’s Matt Carthy feels the whole debacle smacks of cronyism.

This controversy has now been in and out of the spotlight for around a month.
