The sacristan of St Mel's Cathedral in Longford says they're looking forward to opening the doors to allow people attend mass again.
The size of the cathedral means that it can accommodate up to 150 people safely and masses will resume there tomorrow morning at 8 o' clock.
Gerry Reilly says the parish is lucky to have a large amount of stewards who give their time to helping out with the masses.
Speaking on Let's Talk today, the sacristan said he wouldn't ever have thought that the cathedral doors would have been closed again following the devastating Christmas Eve fire of 2009.
