Close to 50 million euro has been allocated to local LEADER Programes over the last 10 years.
LEADER Programmes are designed to support rural development by providing funding to local communities, businesses and organisations.
The funding can support community led projects such as rural tourism, renewable energey projects and social inclusion inititiatives.
The fund is part of the EU's Common Agricultural Policy and funded through the EU and Irish Government.
48 million euro has been allocated to Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon LEADER Partnerships from 2014 through to 2027.
