Seven gardaí serving across the Shannonside Northern Sound region reported being assaulted while on duty in the first seven months of the year.
According to newly published figures, over one hundred gardaí were forced off work following incidents at work between January and July of this year.
According to details released under Freedom of Information to Shannonside Northern Sound, one Garda in Roscommon-Longford suffered serious multiple injuries between January and July this year.
One officer in Cavan-Monaghan sustained an open wound while no injuries were reported by any Gardai in Sligo-Leitrim.
Incidents of bruising or grazes as well as sprains or strains were also reported to authorities from across the region
Four gardaí from Roscommon-Longford and three from Cavan-Monaghan were also injured as a result of an assault in the opening months of 2020.
34 Gardai in Cavan Monaghan and a further 34 in Sligo-Leitrim were forced off work due to incidents between January and July, while 38 gardaí in Roscommon Longford needed sick leave after incidents at work.
19 Gardai were forced of work in January - with 18 in February, March and April , 17 in May and 16 in June.
