It's been claimed that staff at St Christopher's service in Longford are at "breaking point" as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic

It's been claimed that staff at St Christopher's service in Longford are at "breaking point" as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic and pay cuts.

The Seanad has heard that the not-for-profit organisation is also losing staff due to cuts implemented during the last recession.

Longford Senator Micheal Carrigy has appealed to the government to pay staff the same as their Sector 38 counterparts in the HSE in order to help retain much-needed staff.

The Ballinalee man read out correspondence from employees of St Christopher's services he has received in the Upper House, with one email from a staff member claiming that the users of the service in Longford have been very badly affected by changes to staff teams:
