The preferred route for proposed bypass of Ballymurray Knockcroghery has been presented to the Athlone area councillors.
The route chosen is C3 which extends to bypass Leacarrow and join the current N61 at Nolan's cross.
The proposal would divert fronm the current N61 near to Cloonconra, cross the line shortly afterwards and continue to cross the existing N61 just north of the Kilteevan junction just outside Knockcroghery village.

It will go south of Knockcroghery village close to Corbooley, and then take a straight line down to Nolan's Cross beyond Lecarrow.
The full details of the route will be made known on the N61 Roscommon website after 6pm.
