Traffic has returned to the west side of Roscommon's Market square today.
Significant streetscape works on the square were completed earlier this year, one side of the amenity closed to traffic over the last number of months.
According to local councillors, residents and visitors to the town have highlighted increased traffic congestion in the area.

The route has now being reopened with parking also re-instated on the west side of the market square.
The decision has been met with some criticism online, with some locals urging the council to keep the pedestrian space.
