Roscommon County Council has advertised for a contractor to carry out repair and upgrades to the exteriors of eleven building in the centre of the county town.
The tender follows funding announced earlier this week by the Heritage Council of €157,00 for the works.
The majority of the buildings are on Abbey Street and Church Street, and the tender suggest the work must be competed by October of this year in order to fully draw down the funding.
The document, prepared by Roscommon County Council, reveals that he works will involve "preventative maintenance to the roofs, gutters, chimneys, external render, windows and shopfronts as well as " visual improvements to the exterior of the buildings" which will include
the removal of redundant cables, aerials, burglar alarm boxes and fixings; and the upgrading of the signage to the shopfronts.
The deadline for interested parties to tender for the project is the 23rd of this month.
