A Roscommon councillor is calling for further support from government for local festivals. Many festivals have taken place in the Shannonside region in recent weeks including the Castlerea Rose Festival and Boyle Arts Festival.
Fianna Fáil Councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice is on the Castlerea Rose Festival committee and says the insurance for the festival has gone up by 300% since the Covid-19 pandemic He's calling on the Government to provide funding to cover insurance costs for local festivals:
