Roscommon council to employ broadband officer

Roscommon County Council is to employ a broadband officer.

The role will involve maximising initiatives by government and the national broadband plan to increase access to blackspot areas.

The local authority is hoping that the position will provide for increased productivity for businesses and for people who wish to return to the county and work remotely.

Cathaoirleach Laurence Fallon says that one of the outcomes of the Covid 19 pandemic is the opportunities for people to change their working arrangements for the better.
