Roscommon GAA Captain Enda Smith says players are very disappointed at being told that there won't be any GAA action on the field until Easter at the earliest.

The GAA announced yesterday evening that inter-county training or games is not permitted under the current restrictions and the sport isn't being classed as elite this year.

Enda Smith said he hadn't been aware that GAA wouldn't be classed as an elite sport this year and he and other players had been hoping they'd be back on the field in March.

He says even though training as individuals is harder than in a group, he has no doubt that people will continue their commitment until they can get back on the field…
