Roscommon councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice is expressing his disgust and disappointment regarding recent dumping in Corlis Bog in the west of the county.
The Fianna Fail councillor posted images on his Facebook page today of a dead calf dumped on top of other rubbish in the bog and says it's very disheartening to see the ongoing dumping of waste and dead animals in the countryside,.
He says a lot of the items dumped could actually be recycled at the local amenity centres in the county.
Speaking on the Let's Talk show this afternoon he says any farmer who dumps dead animas like this has no respect for themselves or their communities, and he warned those dumping rubbish that the council will be ready to blitz offenders with spot-checks next year when the Covid restrictions are lifted.
