People across the Shannonside region are being advised not to leave boxes or bags of bottles at bring banks.

People across the Shannonside Northern Sound region are being advised that they will be fined for leaving boxes or bags of bottles at bring banks.

People across the Shannonside Northern Sound region are being advised that they will be fined for leaving boxes or bags of bottles at bring banks.

While capacity has been increased in many bottle banks across the region, there may not be a collection at every centre between Christmas and New Year.

People are reminded that there are mobile cameras at some centres, and fines will be issued by local authorities for those caught leaving excess rubbish at the sites.

Environment Officer with Longford County Council Gary Brady says bottle banks will be emptied regularly , but he's asking people not to leave bottles at banks in the intervening times if they are full:
