The statistics released by the CSO show the amount of births registered in Roscommon, Leitrim and Longford from January to June of this year.

There was over 800 births registered in the Shannonside region for the first 2 quarters of 2023. The statistics released by the CSO show the amount of births registered in Roscommon, Leitrim and Longford from January to June of this year. Roscommon had the highest amount of births registered across the region with 376 for the first 6 months of the year. The average age of new mothers in Roscommon was 33 in the first 2 quarters of 2023.

Longford was next with 255 births registered with the average age of mothers who gave birth this year being 32. Leitrim saw the lowest amount of births registered from January to June with 174. The average age of new mothers in the county was 33.
