Over 75pc of litter fines not paid on time in Roscommon

Less than a quarter of litter fines were paid on time in Roscommon last year.

Roscommon County Council fined 60 people under the Litter Pollution Act in 2025.

But only 14 were paid within three weeks, as they're supposed to be.

Sinn Féin's Rory Doyle, from Strokestown, says councils aren't properly resourced to deal with the issue:
