55 people registered as homeless in the Shannonside region last month. The Department of Housing says there were 21 in Longford, 18 in Roscommon and 16 in Leitrim.
Nationally, 17,112 people were accessing emergency accommodation in January. It's the first time the number of people experiencing homelessness has surpassed 17,000.
