Almost 60 fixed charge notices have been issued in the Shannonside region relating to breaches of the statutory speed limit for e-scooters.
The figures were released following a parliamentary question by Longford-Westmeath TD Sorcha Clarke to Minister for Justice, Jim O'Callaghan.
From May 2024, new laws were introduced to make e-scooters legal in Ireland.
Users must be 16 or older and obey a speed limit of 20km/h.
E-scooters are banned from footpaths and users can't carry passengers.
Since the introduction of e-scooter legislation, there have been 1,694 fixed charge notices issued nationally for offences.
Between May 20th 2024 and April 30th 2026, there have been 58 fixed charge notices issued across Sligo-Leitrim and Mayo-Roscommon-Longford Garda divisions.
There have been 38 in Mayo-Roscommon-Longford and in Sligo-Leitrim there have been 20.
